The Lead Mechanical Engineer reports to the GridBeats Hardware Leader and is responsible for designing mechanical parts, detailing specifications, conducting tolerance analysis, and maintaining documentation within the PLM system. The role is part of a cross‑functional team that includes hardware design, systems engineering, and software development to deliver best‑in‑class products for the global market.
Key responsibilities include mechanical engineering design of electronics packaging, creation of detailed specifications and manufacturing drawings, and overseeing the transition of legacy information into new PLM systems while providing guidance on its use. The engineer will perform tolerance analysis and simulations, maintain all design documentation, and work closely with hardware and software engineers, project managers, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and support production and customer issues.
Candidates must hold a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and have at least five years of engineering experience. Required skills include strong knowledge of engineering principles, proficiency with PTC Creo, experience using PTC Windchill, and the ability to perform complex analysis and problem‑solving. Desired experience includes designing electronic equipment with thermal management, familiarity with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and understanding of PCB components.
The position offers a salary range of $92,000‑$138,000 CAD, discretionary annual bonus eligibility, and relocation assistance.
