Mechanical Engineer- Advanced Engineering

Description

The Mechanical Engineer in the Advanced Engineering group will play a key role in shaping the future of data center infrastructure. This position involves designing innovative High and Low Voltage Direct Current (HVDC/LVDC) electrical systems and pioneering thermal and magnetic solutions to ensure reliable power delivery for millions of GPUs.

• Address EMI/EMC shielding, creepage/clearance requirements, and mechanical integration of power modules, capacitors, and semiconductor devices.
• Design enclosures, structural assemblies, and integrated cooling solutions for high-voltage DC power equipment.
• Solve high-current busbar design challenges, including conductor sizing, thermal interface optimization, and electrical contact resistance management.
• Define and execute mechanical and thermal validation testing, including structural FEA, thermal cycling, vibration, and environmental qualification.
• Perform thermal analysis (CFD) and develop heat dissipation strategies for high-power density systems, including cold plates, heat exchangers, busbars, and airflow management.
• Lead mechanical and thermal design for HVDC/LVDC power distribution systems and high-power electronics in multi-gigawatt GPU data center deployments.

Requirements

• Experience with Design for Manufacturing/Assembly principles and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, casting).
• Deep knowledge of structural design, heat transfer, CFD analysis, electronics packaging, and outdoor-rated electrical equipment enclosures.
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience in power systems, high-power electronics, or energy infrastructure with strong thermal management expertise.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and thermal simulation tools (Ansys Fluent or similar). Familiarity with high-voltage DC systems and relevant standards (NEC, UL, IEC).
• Strong understanding of materials for high-power applications, including copper/aluminum alloys, thermal interface materials, and high-voltage insulation systems.
• Ability to take designs from prototype to high-volume production.

Benefits
