Work is primarily outside along interstate highways requiring necessary safety precautions involved in working with electricity in and alongside traffic.

Ability to obtain Flagging Certification within 60 days of employment
Able to perform heavy manual labor (carry 50 pounds 50 yards).
Required VDOT/Industry training.
High School diploma/GED or demonstrated equivalent experience or training
Able to read and follow oral and written instructions.
Skilled in the operation and maintenance of light, medium and heavy-duty equipment used for highway maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials methods, and procedures.
Must have a Class B minimum CDL
Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Weekend, evening, and overtime work may be required. Standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, lifting, carrying; frequently reaching, kneeling, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching, and balancing can be expected.
Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment subject to short or no-notice work assignments and exposure to inclement weather.
