The Head of Project Management / Construction Management will lead multiple large‑scale projects across diverse sectors, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality standards. This role demands strong leadership, client engagement, and technical expertise in project planning and execution, with semiconductor and data‑center experience considered an added advantage.
In leadership and team management, the role builds a high‑performing PM/CM organization, oversees resource planning, competency development, succession planning, and performance management, mentors Project Directors, Managers, Planners, and Construction Managers, and implements PMO frameworks and governance while coordinating with cost, design, and advisory teams and providing executive reporting.
As the senior client interface, the leader drives engagement strategy, manages steering committees and progress meetings, proactively handles scope, approvals, and changes, resolves issues through transparent communication, and cultivates long‑term partnerships that position AECOM as the partner of choice.
Project delivery responsibilities include end‑to‑end management from charter to closeout—creating WBS, schedules, critical path, earned‑value and risk registers—directing construction delivery, site mobilization, HSE oversight, quality assurance, inspections, commissioning and handover, as well as defining procurement strategies, leading tendering, and administering contracts such as FIDIC.
The role also leads proposal and business development efforts, developing delivery methodologies, staffing plans, fee models and competitive differentiators, producing technical write‑ups and presentations for C‑suite stakeholders, and partnering with BD and regional leadership to strengthen the pipeline.
Required technical expertise includes advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project, integration of cost‑schedule and 4D BIM, data‑driven project controls via Power BI, delay analysis, claim preparation and dispute resolution, and deep knowledge of construction execution, QA/QC and statutory approvals.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline, possess 20+ years of progressive PM/CM experience with a proven record as Project Director/Manager on large, complex programs, have exposure to real‑estate, healthcare, industrial, airport and urban development sectors, and ideally hold PMP, PMI‑SP, AACE or MRICS credentials; strong people leadership, executive communication and collaborative skills are essential.
AECOM offers comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, flexible work options, retirement savings, employee stock purchase and a supportive, inclusive culture that champions growth, innovation and equal opportunity. The position is based in Gurgaon, India, with a hybrid work model.
