Data Analyst

Description

• Design, build, and maintain customized Power BI dashboards tailored to plant leadership needs
• Optimize Power BI models, measures, and visualizations for performance and scalability
• Develop clear, visually effective reports that track key performance metrics
• Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends and analysis
• Support additional analytical projects across departments as required
• Partner with a team to understand business needs and translate high-level vision into functional dashboards
• Collect, clean, and analyze operational data from multiple internal systems
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability across all reports

Requirements

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a DATA ANALYST for a Fort Saskatchewan area-based opportunity to work in an operating plant environment on a 2-3 month contract. Candidates must be currently local and able to commute to the Fort Saskatchewan site.

• More IT / technical-focused background preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, data analysis, data validation)
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a willingness to learn and grow under supervision
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including custom dashboard development, data modelling with DAX, and Performance optimization
• Experience working with data from multiple systems and sources
• Diploma or Degree in a related field (data analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, information systems, engineering, or business)
• 5-10 years of professional data analysis experience
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with a team
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
