Senior Staff Accountant

Description

• Prepare and process monthly equipment billing, ensuring proper allocation and accuracy
• Provide additional accounting and financial support for special projects and ad hoc requests as needed
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and reconcile monthly general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare and support union audits as required
• Assist with annual financial audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation
• Manage collections activities, including customer follow-up and account reconciliation
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes
• Prepare monthly OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program) audit documentation

Requirements

The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the company’s accounting operations, with a strong focus on month-end close, reconciliations, audit preparation, and construction-related financial reporting. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with solid accounting fundamentals, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment.

• Construction accounting experience, including job cost accounting
• Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures
• Experience with union environments and OCIP reporting
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Benefits

Compensation: $85,000 – $95,000 annually (DOE)
