Description

• Collect and organize bid documents, specifications, and blueprints for assigned projects
• Attend jobsite visits and pre-bid meetings when needed
• Compile detailed takeoffs for exterior glass, interior glass, and metal panel systems using SF, LF, and count measurements
• Communicate with clients for questions or clarifications and organize responses as part of the bid package
• Review completed takeoffs with supervisors to ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely estimates
• Obtain material pricing and application instructions from vendors, maintaining documentation for future purchasing
• Review drawings and specifications to determine scope of work and required line items
• Monitor bid dates to ensure all takeoffs are completed on schedule

Requirements

A Top 20 commercial glass and glazing contractor in the U.S. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their Fort Wayne, IN team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in commercial glass and glazing to contribute to complex storefront, curtain wall, and metal panel projects.

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, and Bluebeam; adaptable to new software
• Minimum of 5 years estimating experience in the commercial glass and glazing industry
• Degree in Architectural, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Curtain wall systems (stick-built and unitized)
• Ability to read drawings, conceptualize building design, and systematically measure building components
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
