Essential: NEC contract expertise, programme management experience, strong stakeholder engagement, and proficiency with planning software (Primavera P6/MS Project).
G3 Systems is seeking an experienced Construction Planner with a proven track record in NEC contracts and compensation events to join our team on prestigious FCDO projects. You will develop and manage construction programmes from bid through delivery, lead programme meetings, and collaborate with project managers, commercial teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile international projects, drive operational efficiency, and make a tangible impact on project success.
Desirable: Experience with FCDO or other international projects, multi-discipline construction exposure, and additional project management tools.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present clearly at programme and progress meetings.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings (Architectural, Structural, Civil, MEP, and specialist packages) and convert them into logical, efficient construction programmes.
- Competence in managing procurement schedules and liaising with commercial and design teams.

- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts and compensation events.
- Ability to work in an agile manner, working flexibly to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- 5+ years in a similar position
- Strong and demonstrable experience using Primavera, Asta Powerproject or MS Project to generate detailed programmes
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office suite of applications to a intermediate / advanced level
- Knowledge of additional project management or scheduling software.
- Recognised training in project planning software (desirable not essential)
- Proficiency in relevant planning software tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, supply chain, and internal teams.
- Experience working on high-profile FCDO or international projects.
- Knowledge and experience of international projects desirable
- Experience in producing, updating, and auditing detailed programmes to support decision-making and operational delivery.
- Commercially and contractually aware focusing on the NEC 3/4 contracts
- Previous exposure to multi-discipline construction projects in diverse environments.
- Proven track record in planning and programme management within construction projects.
- Skilled in identifying project risks (time, cost, quality, safety, change control) and providing effective mitigation strategies.
