Senior Project Manager (Water and Environment Infrastructure)

Description

The Senior Project Manager will join the Infrastructure Project Management team, overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes water‑company investments, flood‑risk programmes and other environmental initiatives across the UK. The role offers exposure to both client‑side projects and government‑led programmes, supporting a strong pipeline of work.

Working within collaborative, multi‑disciplinary delivery teams, the successful candidate will lead complex projects, manage stakeholders, health and safety, risk, quality, schedules and contracts, and ensure delivery meets client expectations for cost, time and quality.

• Lead delivery of multi‑disciplinary, complex infrastructure and environmental projects.
• Manage client‑side project elements including stakeholder engagement, H&S, risk, quality, schedule and contracts.
• Ensure projects meet client expectations for quality, cost and timeline.
• Support and resource project teams to satisfy client and business requirements.
• Oversee subcontractors and remote resources effectively.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and support business development opportunities with existing and new clients.

Requirements

• Infrastructure project management experience, preferably in the water sector.
• Proficiency with NEC contracts (PSC, ECC) and NEC3/NEC4 contract management.
• Experience working in integrated, multi‑organisation collaborative teams.
• Excellent communication, organisational and numeracy skills.
• Strong relationship‑building ability and an extensive industry network.
• Self‑initiative with the ability to work closely with senior managers and associates.
• Relevant degree (e.g., project management, engineering, environmental science) or equivalent experience.
• Project management qualification (e.g., APMQ, PRINCE2) desirable.
• Associate membership of a chartered professional body (MRICS, APM, CIOB) desirable.
• Ability to pass required security screening checks.
