Senior Estimator - Mechanical

Description

• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain and manage cost databases (Sage, Trimble, etc.) for Mechanical disciplines.
• Ensure adherence to company standards and client expectations.
• Provide input on constructability and value engineering opportunities.
• Support risk analysis and contingency planning for Mechanical estimates.
• Collaborate with design teams and project managers to validate scope and pricing.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and design documents.
• Develop detailed Mechanical discipline estimates for all project phases.

Requirements

The Senior Mechanical Estimator will play a critical role in developing accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems across complex projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of mechanical systems, and the ability to manage cost databases to ensure precision and consistency in estimating practices.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, codes, and industry standards.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical estimating within industrial or commercial construction.
• Proficiency in estimating software and cost databases (Sage, Trimble, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to develop custom estimating templates.
• Professional certifications (e.g., ASPE, AACE) are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Familiarity with BIM tools and integration with estimating platforms.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or advanced manufacturing projects.
