You’ll work closely with our Systems Integration Partners, project delivery teams, and internal stakeholders, acting as the OT lead on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects. You’ll also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your region (Lancashire, Merseyside, Manchester or Cheshire), helping to solve engineering challenges and optimise performance.

  • Support operational teams with engineering advice, incident response, and performance optimisation
  • Provide second-line support and recommend long-term solutions for operational issues
  • Lead the design and delivery of OT solutions across major infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with suppliers to shape technology roadmaps and manage obsolescence
  • Develop and maintain UU’s OT standards, systems, and procedures
  • Mentor graduate engineers and technicians

We’re looking for a talented Senior Operational Technology Engineer to join our Regional Engineering team. You’ll play a key role in designing and developing instrumentation, control, automation, and telemetry systems for water and wastewater operations both at process sites and across natural water networks.

  • Ability to apply emerging technologies in live operational environments
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with post-grad experience in OT
  • Strong technical understanding of OT architectures, Fieldbus, and industrial networking
  • Experience with hardware design, cyber security, and IT/OT integration
