Provides innovative solutions for energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors globally.
The Senior Engineer or Scientist supports both individual and team assignments, applying technical, business, marketing, and sales knowledge to achieve successful outcomes. They work within cross‑functional and cross‑discipline teams, using petrochemical and refinery process engineering methods to define requirements, conduct analyses, configure processes, and manage risk. At this level, they may be recognized as a subject‑matter expert and provide technical mentoring and coaching. Some individuals serve as Team Leaders, delivering technically and commercially sound products from project inception to delivery while operating with a high degree of autonomy.
Senior Engineers/Scientists execute and oversee projects aimed at improving performance, cost, or reliability of existing products, applications, and services based on customer, operational, supply‑chain, quality, and reliability inputs. They advise on design‑for‑manufacture, reliability, and product development for ongoing initiatives, ensuring technical and commercial soundness.
The role requires deep understanding of petrochemical and refinery process fouling mechanisms and mitigation strategies across olefins steam crackers, butadiene extractive distillation, styrene monomer purification, and petroleum refining. Candidates must be familiar with the design, specifications, functions, and operating parameters of process equipment such as piping, valves, absorbers, filtration systems, distillation columns, heat exchangers, fired heaters, reactors, and instrumentation. Knowledge of related concepts—including process corrosion, emulsions, foaming, and fuel specifications—is also valuable.
Baker Hughes offers flexible working patterns to accommodate individual preferences, such as early‑start/early‑finish, late‑start/late‑finish, or intra‑day/week flexibility to get the job done.
