Refinery Pump Mechanic
Suncor

Mechanic responsible for repairing and maintaining rotating equipment at a refinery.
Work as a partner with operations to suggest and implement the best repair or service option
Build strong positive relationships to influence and act as a lead in the safety aspect of contractor management, typically through site-based kick-off meetings and field validations of contractor hazard assessments and/or verification plans to ensure controls are in place
Communicate maintenance issues in an open, honest and consistent manner
Attend and participate in safety meetings, maintain exemplary housekeeping standards, and complete regulatory safety training
Ensure everyone in your area of responsibility selects and uses proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools to do their tasks safely
Oversee visual safety checks and inspections on equipment to ensure it is running properly
Participate in procedures and programs intended for both personal safety and mechanical integrity

3 to 5 years of industrial rotating equipment experience
A valid driver’s licence with a driving record acceptable to Suncor
Experience in the repair or maintenance of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, compressors, fans, fans, blowers, steam turbines, pump seals and support systems
You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
Ability to pass a Pump and Compression basic knowledge test
