Senior Cost Consultant - Ports

Description

• Cost and performance reporting.
• Contract administration: Work closely with legal and commercial teams to administer contracts, manage variations, and assess claims and compensation events.
• Procurement support: Revieing main contractor tender documentation and evaluate contractor and supplier bids from a cost perspective.
• Change management: Evaluate the cost impact of project changes, ensuring all variations are captured, valued, and reported in a timely manner
• NEC4 target cost audits and assurance reviews of applications for payment.
• NEC4 post contract administration of design and build main contract target cost contract.

Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
• A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
• Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
• Detailed knowledge of most forms of contract.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.
• Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration and contract management.
• Proven experience cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.
• Digitally competent.
• Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction.
• Analytical skills.
• Proven experience of different types of contracts including the method of measurement.
• Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels is essential.
• Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver.
• Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role.
• Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications.
• Negotiation skills.
