The HR Generalist provides day‑to‑day HR support and ensures compliance with employment laws and internal processes. This role serves as a critical link between teammates, leadership, and People Team operations. At Buffalo Construction, Inc., we’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our People Team. This is a hands‑on role supporting the full teammate lifecycle—with an emphasis on payroll, onboarding, benefits, and compliance, while contributing to a positive, values‑driven culture.
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred) and 2‑4 years of progressive HR experience, including payroll processing and benefits administration. SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP certification and prior experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS/payroll systems are preferred.
Key strengths include a strong understanding of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.), high attention to detail, the ability to manage confidential information, and excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, are also essential.
