The Field Service Technician III is a key member of our field service team, responsible for assisting in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of transformers and related equipment, with safety as the top priority. The role involves mentoring less‑experienced technicians and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, often near moving mechanical parts, heights, hazardous environments, and exposure to electrical hazards, noise, and vibration.
- Lead safety culture; follow safety policies and wear PPE
- Participate in safety training programs and meetings
- Perform basic testing as crew lead on transformer installation, maintenance, and emergency work
- Install, test, and maintain electrical apparatus with knowledge of transformer theory
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during inspections and apparatus testing
- Analyze test results and develop testing plans
- Operate oil vacuum processing rig and top‑off transformers
- Complete administrative duties (inspections, job briefs, work order entry)
- Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
- Install and commission Calisto and other monitoring systems
Requirements
5+ years

- Minimum 5 years industry experience; high school diploma or GED; supplemental electrical maintenance courses desired
- Valid driver’s license with good record; ability to lift 50 lb, crawl, climb, and stand
- Pass fit‑for‑duty exam; available for overnight domestic travel, occasional international travel, flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and up to 75% travel
- Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Preferred: NCCO crane certification
- Preferred: Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals and power distribution safety
- Preferred: Ability to read electrical diagrams, metering devices, and interpret industry practices

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $32.00 to $46.00, depending on geography, market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
