Applies advanced technical expertise to address complex design challenges, within the architectural discipline, and contributes to the development of innovative architectural & engineering solutions.
In addition to hands-on design and production responsibilities, this role provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
Assists in ensuring deliverables are in compliance with the specific codes and standards in force for the project.
May monitor production to ensure consistency, budget and schedule of the deliverables.
Apply basic architectural/engineering principles and established design practices in developing complex design concepts and deliverables.
Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) in conjunction with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
Communicate and may set appropriate design and graphic standards.
May review the deliverables of others.
May make presentations and conduct training classes within a specialized area of expertise.
Reviews project requirements and accurately determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables.
Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development.
Promotes quality within project/group/section.
Assignments may involve solving a particular design problem or participating in a design team focused on completing an assigned project task.
Applies judgment and makes decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation.
May contribute to the continuous improvement of guides and standards. May participate in and lead process improvement activities and assignments.
May coordinate the presentation, delegate production design, or other electronic applications.
Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency.
Functions as a senior architectural engineering technician, technical design specialist and/or supervisor.
Performs design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records.
