Description

The Maintenance Technician ensures optimal performance of industrial machines through routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks, reducing downtime and extending equipment life. They work across multiple trades such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing while also handling general cleaning and miscellaneous assignments.

The role operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noisy machinery, variable temperatures, and requires the use of personal protective equipment. The work setting is fast‑paced and deadline‑driven, with occasional weekend shifts and emergency response duties.

• Diagnose equipment failures, determine root cause, and communicate required actions.
• Perform corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, calibration, and part replacement.
• Assist with installation, assembly, and setup of new machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including parts used and labor time.
• Collaborate with operators, technicians, and supervisors to prioritize issues and coordinate repairs.
• Manage spare parts and tooling inventory.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure equipment complies with standards.
• Use CMMS to track tasks and maintenance history.
• Keep work area clean and organized.

Requirements

• Knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; forklift or scissor‑lift certification preferred.
• Familiarity with CMMS software.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical problems.
• Basic welding or fabrication experience desirable.
• Understanding of safety practices such as LOTO and 5S.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of machinery maintenance experience.
• Prior OSHA standards experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and operate material handling equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
• Forklift certification preferred.
