The Associate Account Manager role at Republic Services focuses on proactively maintaining and retaining relationships with existing commercial and industrial waste customers within an assigned territory. The incumbent handles both outbound and inbound calls to preserve business with smaller, less complex accounts while seeking to expand penetration by promoting the full suite of Republic Services products.
Daily responsibilities include reaching out to customers, staying knowledgeable about the company’s services, pricing, and lines of business, and executing contractual re‑signs to extend relationships and improve profitability. The manager responds to cancellation requests per escalation policy, supports pricing initiatives, documents all activities in Salesforce, captures customer emails, and works to minimize rate restrictions and credits. Regular meetings with the Sales Manager review retention metrics and key account status, and additional duties may be assigned.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and up to two years of customer service experience; waste or transportation industry experience is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to use Salesforce daily are essential.
