We are currently looking for a Junior Human Factors (HF) Engineer to join our team who can provide project delivery support across our range of projects as well as working closely our bidding teams to contribute towards future growth of the company.

  • Support and present work at customer meetings
  • Work closely with stakeholders both within Hitachi Rail and externally with clients
  • Evaluate HF related issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions
  • Ensure products and projects meet the needs of the end user groups
  • To provide HF input to work packages and have an awareness of project delivery timescales
  • Carry out HF activities at all stages of the systems design lifecycle

This position is ideal for a fresh Graduate coming from a Human Factors or Ergonomics degree, or someone looking for their first career move from a User Centred Design background.

This position is based in London (St Katherine’s Dock), with a small percentage of travel to other sites in the UK and occasionally overseas.

More than anything else, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about Human Factors Engineering.

  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Degree/Masters or equivalent in Human Factors/Ergonomics
  • Read and understand HF requirements for a project
  • Attained or working towards CIEHF
  • Input to bids
  • Able to communicate at all levels across the business
  • Able to support a variety of HF work packages and assessments
  • Understanding of HF integration
  • Able to learn, understand and then implement ideas and information
  • Able to make sense of ‘noisy’ information and solve problems
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt message content depending on the audience

We aim to complete a two-stage interview process. Your first interview will be a virtual interview. The second stage interview will focus on behavioural competencies and will be in-person at our St Katherine’s Dock office.
