  • ST Engineers develop positive relationships and coordinate with many organizations and individuals to ensure major maintenance is prioritized and scheduled correctly based on historical data and existing technical issues. These groups include OEMs, venders, planners and turbine specialists.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches with the ability to conduct analysis and recommend process enhancements and standards relative to area of assignment.
  • Provide technical oversight at vendor shops for quality assurance.
  • Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Monitors and analyses computer trends to of equipment health to influence future or current maintenance requirements.
  • Ensures accomplishment of business reliability and predictability goals through effective outage planning, estimation, scheduling and monitoring of work activities where only limited standardization exists; handles differing situations which require developing solutions within area of Steam Turbines and the supporting systems.
  • Provide onsite technical oversite of outage work where necessary.
  • Perform work in a power plant or office environment.
  • When not directly supporting onsite work, the ST Engineer is engaged in planning, research, reviews, root cause analysis, documentation, etc. to support the availability, reliability, and major maintenance planning for these assets.

  • Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, principles, and procedures to show proficiency in technical and analytical competencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • TGS Steam Turbine Engineers provide expertise and guidance on the identification, analysis and resolution of complex problems in area of Steam Turbines and the supporting systems, with the ability to visualize long-term impact on a system-wide basis.
  • Exposure to mechanical, electrical, noise or other industrial hazards, and utilize appropriate protective equipment as needed.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures; demonstrates ability to analyze and recommend enhancements to business processes and develops standards relevant to area of assignment. Keeps abreast of new developments, technologies procedures and equipment.
  • Experience using OSI PI Vision (or PI Process Book) and Microsoft Office software utilities.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer may be required by some departments. (e.g., Transmission, Distribution, NGBU, RRE).
  • 6 years related work experience.
  • Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or PE
  • Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing, and presenting recommendations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Field Mobility Classification – Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at multiple locations.
  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.
