You will participate in the preparation of feasibility studies;
Perform the following studies: Grounding, Lightning, Bus Fault Stress Analysis.
You will participate in the preparation of estimates and support developing proposals;
You will provide Technical, Procurement, Construction and Active Coordination support;

You will participate in client technical review meetings;
You will conduct site visits as required ensuring to provide overall project support.
You will work seamlessly with Physical design Lead to develop the above listed drawings;
You will have technical accountability on all aspects of design for medium and high voltage (5kV – 735kV) substation projects including the development of:General Arrangements, Plan Views and Elevation Views, Grounding Plans, Cable Trough/Conduit Plans, Specifications for Major Primary Equipment (transformers, breakers, switches, etc.), Documentation for Design Calculations, Bill of Materials, Construction Sequencing Documentation;Perform the following studies: Grounding, Lightning, Bus Fault Stress Analysis.

Experience with all voltages 735 kV and below;
General Arrangements, Plan Views and Elevation Views, Grounding Plans, Cable Trough/Conduit Plans, Specifications for Major Primary Equipment (transformers, breakers, switches, etc.), Documentation for Design Calculations, Bill of Materials, Construction Sequencing Documentation;
Proficient in the use of CDEGS, WinIGS, or similar programs for lightning and grounding studies.
Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations.
PEO - should be working towards registration to obtain P.Eng;
Proficient in assessing mechanical forces and thermal effects of high fault currents on rigid bus
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation;
Between 3 to 6 years of relevant post education experience in the field of high voltage substation design – Physical, ideally within a consulting environment;
Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes.
Ability to write up the scope, perform QA/QC, and manage the direct reports
You will coordinate efforts with other various external and internal project team members, with familiarity in identifying when coordination is needed with certain design disciplines such as transmission line engineers, distribution line engineers, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and surveyors;
Experience with proposal writing and project estimating
Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
University Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized accredited program;
