The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including software engineers, product owners, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders—to embed quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle. They will design and implement comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, performance, and security testing, and develop scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or BrowserStack. Additional duties include mentoring junior automation members, conducting cross‑browser and accessibility testing, executing performance and load tests with JMeter or LoadRunner, identifying and tracking defects, maintaining detailed test documentation, performing security testing, and driving continuous improvement by adopting emerging tools and methodologies.

Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Senior Test Automation Engineer with deep expertise in software test automation and performance validation for web‑based, customer‑facing applications. This role is pivotal in driving quality across our digital platforms, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure user experiences.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, and possess at least 11 years of hands‑on QA experience with web‑based, public‑facing applications. Required skills include expertise in automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, BrowserStack), performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner), and a strong understanding of cross‑browser/device compatibility. Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and knowledge of cloud testing on Azure are essential. The role also demands proficiency with GitHub Copilot and other generative AI tools, security and accessibility testing expertise, strong analytical and communication abilities, and attention to detail. Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or Certified ScrumMaster are a plus.
