This role is responsible for implementing corporate, field, and office Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) policies and procedures within assigned business units and large project sites, while championing “The Layton Way” to deliver predictable outcomes for internal teams, external partners, and customers.
The ESH Manager leads safety culture initiatives, oversees safety programs—including Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) projects—and provides regulatory and policy interpretation, technical advice, and audits. Responsibilities include reviewing leading indicators, conducting incident review meetings, delivering training, managing monthly audits, ensuring accurate accident reporting, and handling injury management and workers’ compensation. The manager also supervises craft‑worker safety behavior and coordinates with SBU leaders, HR, and external agencies.
Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety & Health or a related field, possess strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations, and have 2–5 years of ESH experience. Preferred credentials include ASP and CSP accreditations, prior OCIP experience, and basic Spanish communication skills. The role requires strong interpersonal abilities, industrial hygiene expertise, effective verbal and written communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, and a focus on problem solving, organization, and continuous improvement.
The position offers a salary range of $95,000 to $130,000 with eligibility for a target bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, health‑savings and flexible‑spending accounts, 401(k) matching, a wide array of insurance options, paid time off, holidays, employee assistance, and additional perks such as legal services and pet insurance.
