The Buyer role focuses on building and maintaining customer accounts, providing market insight, resolving contractual and logistical issues, and driving profitable material purchases while upholding Nucor’s rigorous safety standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with accounts through face‑to‑face and inside sales
- Provide market forecasts and act as marketplace expert for the commercial team
- Resolve administrative issues such as contract changes, payment terms, and truck schedules
- Stay current on metal recycling trends via publications and trade associations
- Manage multiple priorities while delivering high‑level customer support in a fast‑paced environment
- Negotiate pricing and purchase thousands of tons of material each month

Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least two years of B2B sales experience, strong communication skills, self‑motivation, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
