The Senior Project Manager serves as the central hub between Development, Preconstruction, Execution, Asset Management, utilities, regulators, lenders, and investors. This role requires balancing financial discipline, risk management, and stakeholder communication with the ability to delegate effectively to field-based teams. Success means projects are delivered on scope, schedule, and budget - and are structured to perform reliably and profitably for years to come.
The Senior Project Manager will report to the VP of Execution and lead at a strategic level, setting project priorities, managing budgets and contracts, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring accountability across contractors, EPCs, and consultants.
- Manage higher-risk or more complex projects requiring advanced judgment and decision-making.
- Oversee project turnover to the Asset Management team at completion, ensuring smooth transition of DG assets into long-term operations.
- Oversee project execution through delegation to Construction Managers, EPCs, and consultants.
- Contribute lessons learned to improve future project planning and execution.
- Identify and mitigate project risks; manage change orders and contractual claims.
- Mentor project managers/engineers, focusing on resource allocation and productive collaboration
- Ensure compliance with lender, investor, and financing requirements.
- Develop and maintain high-level project schedules; ensure alignment with contractual milestones, interconnection requirements, and financing needs common to DG-scale projects.
- Provide executive-level reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on project progress, budget, and schedule.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with EPCs, consultants, and key vendors.
- Own the project P&L: create, validate, and manage project budgets; forecast financials; track variances.
- Transition projects from development into execution, ensuring all preconstruction deliverables are in place.
- Support process improvement across project delivery, including standardizing reporting and project controls.
- Coordinate with Independent Engineers and third-party inspectors.
- Partner with Development and Preconstruction teams to shape project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Act as primary liaison with utilities, AHJs, and other regulatory entities, with an emphasis on DG interconnection and local permitting.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Clear and effective communicator with prior experience managing diverse stakeholders (contractors, utilities, investors).
- Strong leadership skills; able to delegate effectively and manage through others.
- 5-8+ years of project management experience in renewable energy (PV, BESS, or hybrid projects).
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, risk management, project scheduling, and project finance interfaces.
- Proficiency with MS Office and project scheduling tools (MS Project or equivalent).
- Comfortable with regular travel (30%, typically 1-2 days per week).
- Preferred: prior field experience in a similar role (to enable effective oversight and delegation).
- Demonstrated success managing budgets, schedules, and contracts for multiple DG-scale renewable energy projects within an IPP or developer-operator environment.

Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, certifications, and relevant experience as outlined in the job description above.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,000- $180,000 per year + bonus.
