B&J Seeking Civil Design Engineer - Los Angeles

Description

• Create and develop detailed engineering designs using CAD and Civil-3D software and other design tools.
• Provide engineering design, calculations, and preparation of plans and specifications in accordance with federal, state and local agency requirements and general engineering design standards.
• Provide Construction Administration and support, including but not limited to resolving field issues, reviewing material submittals, and addressing contractor RFIs.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and client presentations to communicate design concepts and progress.
• Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and tests to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Grading, paving and earthwork analysis
• Meet, coordinate and provide processing with various utility companies, review agencies and municipalities to expedite project approvals and permitting.
• Generate and review technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.

Requirements

• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in the same or similar role
• BIM/Site and utility 3D modeling
• Project Due Diligence, feasibility and Master Planning
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from accredited college or university; required
• Candidates must be currently able to work in the United States without sponsorship. Brandow & Johnston does not sponsor work visas. For immediate consideration:
• Flood control and Hydrology/Hydraulic Analysis
• Knowledge of general engineering principals and general engineering design
• City/County of Los Angeles and urban infill development experience; preferred but not required
• SWPPP Developer/Practitioner (QSD/QSP)
• Ability to establish and maintain communication, responsiveness and effective working relationships with design team, clients, consultants, and contractors.
