Position SummaryThe OCS Engineer is responsible in managing the Overhead Contact System (OCS) scope from design through construction, testing and commissioning of the project.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties• Manage the OCS to ensure that there are no scope gaps and the systems are functional and acceptable to the customer• Ensure that accurate and complete scopes of work are provided to OCS subcontractors as it pertains to the work being performed by LKCNT• On design-build projects, ensure that design development stays within the confines of how the project was bid such that any unnecessary scope creep is avoided• Ensure that all OCS design work is scheduled and executed timely to meet the Project’s needs• Manage the OCS subcontract(s) including review and approval of all billings and change proposals• Support the Construction Managers in the development of installation plans and provide comments as to adherence to project requirements including the development of Structural• Create Erection/Shop Drawings (SEDs) in CADD format• Provide oversight to completion of the project’s pre & post OCS CDRL requirements including product data, design, test procedures, test reports, O&M Manuals & Training Material submittals• Manage all required close out documentation that is required to be submitted and approved to achieve final acceptance• Coordinate the OCS design, procurement, installation and testing requirements and compliance to the needs of the Contract QA/QC plans in concert with the Project QA/QC manager• Oversee OCS and provide dynamic input as required to the project schedule and weekly look ahead schedules• Ensure the procurement of all OCS and Traction Power equipment is commenced and delivered in strict accordance with the agreed schedule • Manage the testing and commissioning of the OCS and Traction Power systems and provide support to the agency’s integrated systems testing as required • Ensure that an effective business relationship is established and maintained with the Owner and/or Prime Contractor and all Subcontractors and Suppliers • Maintain effective Discipline and good staff morale
Required Skills and Qualifications • Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in a similar role on major rail Projects. Systems Experience is a must.• Preferably an Electrical PE with a good knowledge of current code and standards requirements for electrical work• Thorough knowledge of OCS typically used on transit systems• Experience and knowledge of Signal / Train Control Systems is preferred• Experience with base Microsoft Office Programs• Experience with CADD is preferred• Ability to meet deadlines• Good written and oral communication skills• Highly self-motivated and directed• Strong attention to detail• Transparent communicator• Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities• Strong organization and interpersonal skills
This is a remote position with travel required as needed for projects.

Pay Range: $130000 - $180000 / year
