Civil/Structural Engineering Intern/Co-op

Description

• Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in telecommunications.
• Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
• Prepare low‑complexity engineering designs and technical data for accuracy.
• Design and draft lease exhibits based on given parameters.
• Perform structural analysis and design of telecom infrastructure, producing analysis models and CAD drawings under supervision.
• Attend site visits with senior staff and conduct as‑built site audits.
• Design and draft basic zoning and construction drawings for modification and co‑location sites.
• Review zoning ordinances and regulations to determine applicable requirements.
• Develop understanding of building codes and design standards such as ANSI/TIA, AISC, ACI, NEC, and NESC.
• Identify off‑the‑shelf components for site design and antenna‑mount upgrades.
• Assist with permit applications, material testing, and additional CAD work.
• Exercise judgment on work details while operating under direct supervision.
• Utilize RISA 3D, TNX Tower, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to complete projects within budget and deadlines.

Requirements

• Learn basic telecom site design concepts, including antenna types, wiring diagrams, RFDS sheets, and equipment.
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in civil, structural, or related engineering field.
• Preferable experience with AutoCAD; Civil 3D and RISA 3D considered a plus.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English for job‑related communication.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screening and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
