Budget and Costing Assistant

Description

Responsible for supporting the area/team using basic, established technical capabilities.

You’ll be responsible for applying value management techniques at the outset of projects, assisting in estimating and cost planning, observing procurement and selection of the main contractor, preparing contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses, measuring and providing valuations of work, adjusting variations according to contract terms, supporting cost control and reporting, identifying costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, evaluating claims for delay and additional costs, providing guidance on certificates of making good defects and final completion, offering informal guidance to junior roles, developing relationships with internal stakeholders, and collaborating with team members on operational delivery of regional strategy.

• Assist with estimating and cost planning
• Observe procurement and selection of main contractor
• Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses
• Measure work and provide valuations, adjusting variations per contract
• Support cost control and reporting throughout the contract
• Identify costs linked to design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges
• Participate in evaluating delay and additional cost claims from contractors and subcontractors
• Guide certification of defect remediation and final completion requirements
• Provide informal guidance to junior staff
• Build working relationships with internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with team members to deliver regional strategy operationally

You’ll need to have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and experience in the relevant field.
