The Environmental/Asbestos Abatement Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all assigned environmental projects, including but not limited to asbestos abatement, microbial growth clean up, and lead abatement. Additional responsibilities include state or local code and Regulation 8 requirements, temporary labor management, equipment selection, material procurement, on‑site management, paperwork accuracy, and quality control. The supervisor also works closely with occupants, property owners, and industrial hygienists throughout the abatement process, providing daily updates to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The role encompasses field management duties such as overseeing technicians and temporary labor, completing daily project summaries, safety toolbox meetings, and ensuring compliance with state, OSHA, and environmental regulations. Office and shop responsibilities include reviewing project paperwork, maintaining inventory, tracking equipment, updating schedules, and mentoring environmental technicians. Additionally, the supervisor monitors man‑hours, materials, and equipment to ensure project profitability and avoids unnecessary overtime.
Candidates must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, pass drug screening and background checks, and hold an asbestos 40‑hour supervisor certificate and state ID (assistance provided). Preferred experience includes 1‑3 years of asbestos abatement, national catastrophe response volunteering, and strong communication skills with clients and stakeholders.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
The work environment can range from quiet to loud, and employees must regularly lift 25‑50 pounds, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate while moving around the office.
Hourly Pay Range: $28‑$36 per hour, based on experience.
Occasional travel (less than 25% of the time) may be required, including possible overnight trips for training or meetings.
