As Clerk of Works you will be central to the day‑to‑day success of the business, overseeing the quality and progress of construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations and company standards, and working closely with colleagues to drive high‑quality delivery and continuous improvement. • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and regulations.
• Verify construction work follows schedules, quality standards, and best practices.
• Identify and report discrepancies, defects, or deviations promptly.
• Review contractor workmanship, materials, and methods for compliance.
• Provide technical advice to resolve issues for contractors and project teams.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to address concerns and update progress.
• Prepare detailed site inspection reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with the Company Director to develop quality assurance procedures.
• Stay updated on legislation, building codes, and industry best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of construction practices and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, solutions‑focused professional with a practical mindset. You will have proven experience as a Clerk of Works or in a similar construction/surveying role, strong knowledge of UK construction techniques, regulations and building codes, and the ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Excellent communication, meticulous attention to detail, independent judgement and strong organisational skills are essential, as is proficiency with digital inspection tools.

• Proven experience as a Clerk of Works or similar role in construction/surveying.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction techniques, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent understanding of building codes, health and safety guidelines, and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous work approach.
• Effective communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency with digital tools for inspection documentation and reporting.
• MRICS or MICWCI qualification required.
• Experience in facades and façade remediation.
