Corporate Safety Director

Description

• Identifies, creates and conducts safety training for compliance with all safety requirements
• Coordinates Workers Compensation claims to ensure timely and appropriate employee care and incident management
• Develops and analyzes reporting to identify trends and indicators to help prevent future incidents
• Build relationships with project team members including project leadership, project safety professionals, and team members.
• Maintains an active incident management program
• Performs on-site audits to identify unsafe operations, risks and compliance issues
• Drives continuous improvement and innovation across projects, implementing best practices in behavioral based safety
• Proactively leads the company’s safety program to keep employees safe, ensure regulatory compliance and reduce risk.
• Assists in setting up and maintaining safe jobsites and ensures ongoing compliance with safety rules and regulations at all locations
• Serves as the company safety subject matter expert with clients, regulators and employees
• Oversees and supports safety meeting implementation and documentation
• Develops and mentors jobsite safety professionals

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local safety regulations
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and related experience Degree in Occupational Safety/Health is a plus
• Skilled in hazard recognition, record keeping and implementation of corrective measures
• Experience with Incident and Injury Free (IIF) safety program preferred
• At least 10 years construction safety experience
• OSHA30 certification
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build partnerships across the business to improve our safety culture
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, Coast Guard safety regulations and workers’ compensation laws
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
