The position is responsible for site implementation of performance improvement programs, which may include Correction Action Process, Self‑Assessment, Benchmarking, Human Performance, Operating Experience, Safety Culture, Nuclear Safety Review Board activities, and various INPO‑related tasks such as evaluation readiness and course scheduling.
The role implements performance improvement programs and provides support and oversight. It reviews site performance data to identify adverse trends using observations, CAP, self‑assessment, benchmarking, OPEX, and performance indicators. The specialist supports CAP investigations, manages performance indicators, and coordinates cross‑functional preparation of Management Review Meeting packages. Additional duties may include emergency response responsibilities as directed by management.
Senior Performance Specialists must have a bachelor’s degree with five years of related experience, or a current or prior Senior Reactor Operator license with five years of experience, or an associate’s degree with seven years, or a high school diploma/GED with nine years. They also need at least two years of exempt‑level experience, meet minimum access or unescorted access requirements, and pass a favorable medical examination.
Performance Improvement Specialists must have a bachelor’s degree with two years of related experience, or a current or prior Senior Reactor Operator license with two years, or an associate’s degree with four years, or a high school diploma/GED with six years. They must also meet minimum access or unescorted access requirements and pass a favorable medical examination.
Preferred qualifications for senior and entry‑level roles include experience with performance improvement or operational reliability programs, prior SRO licensing or certification, root‑cause analysis expertise, and experience in engineering, maintenance, or operations.

The expected salary range for a Performance Improvement Specialist is $85,500‑$95,000, and for a Senior Performance Specialist is $108,900‑$121,000, both varying based on experience and accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
