The Senior Construction Manager oversees all phases of data‑center construction projects, from planning and design through commissioning and turnover, ensuring safety, schedule, cost control, quality craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. This role provides leadership in construction‑management policies and cultivates key relationships with general contractors, trade partners, authorities having jurisdiction, and other essential vendors.
- Lead projects from inception through turnover, directing pre‑construction, construction, commissioning, and close‑out phases.
- Serve as primary liaison between design managers and general contractors, assuming full project leadership at mobilization.
- Organize and lead cross‑functional teams covering design, engineering, procurement, land enablement, operations, IT/network, sales, finance, legal, and brand strategy.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with general contractors, MEP trades, authorities having jurisdiction, and other key vendors.
- Manage project budgets from concept through turnover, using cost data to inform design decisions.
- Oversee up to 25+ external vendors per project, including contractors, design firms, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers.
- Administer contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and ensure internal controls are applied at each stage.
- Conduct inspections to verify quality, specifications, and schedule compliance.
- Report status, risks, and action plans to senior management and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.
- Integrate with sales and solutions engineering teams during revenue generation to align technical deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and cost‑saving initiatives across construction processes.
- Mentor and develop construction professionals, fostering a high‑performing team environment.

Reporting to the Director of Construction Management, the position works closely with senior leadership and may require travel across North America, LATAM, South America, and EMEA. Projects are large, fast‑moving, and complex, demanding proactive coordination and strong leadership to drive successful outcomes.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field and bring at least nine years of progressive commercial construction experience, preferably with data‑center exposure. Strong knowledge of lean construction methods, various delivery and contract models, CPM scheduling, cost estimating, and industry software is required, along with excellent leadership and communication skills. Up to 50% travel may be expected.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 9+ years progressive experience managing commercial construction projects, with data‑center exposure preferred.
- Proven experience with lean construction methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods (IPD, design‑build, design‑bid‑build) and contract types (lump sum, CM at risk, GMP).
- Strong proficiency in CPM scheduling, cost estimating, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and construction‑industry software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
