The Area Automation Manager oversees automation systems across Missouri and surrounding states, acting as the primary liaison between WM's Automation Group and site contacts. This role ensures that automation and controls engineering activities align with corporate objectives while supporting landfills, wastewater treatment, biogas extraction, renewable energy, recycling, telematics, fleet, and organics processing.
Key responsibilities include providing subject‑matter‑expert day‑to‑day support for automated and electromechanical process control systems, ensuring policy compliance and cybersecurity, managing the lifecycle of OT assets, and developing a roadmap for OT maturity. The manager also collaborates with IT and operations teams, creates and executes automation strategies, and documents all data in shared work environments.

The salary range is $118,000–$148,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, a stock purchase plan, 401(k) match, paid vacation, holidays, and personal days.
