The Director of Regional Operations will supervise daily geothermal drilling activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on multiple sites. Responsibilities include managing field personnel, monitoring progress against project goals, conducting site inspections, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining communication with senior management to report performance and drive improvements.

- Work closely with engineers and geologists to optimize drilling techniques.

- Manage drilling budgets for the assigned area, controlling costs and reducing waste.
- Generate reports on drilling progress, safety incidents, and equipment usage.
- Provide updates to upper management and stakeholders.
- Liaise with government agencies, environmental groups, and contractors.
- Ensure permits and licenses are in place for drilling operations.
- Work with landowners and community representatives to address concerns.

Travel is required 100% within the greater Northeast region (CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ), with employees expected to be away from home Monday through Friday and scheduled Saturdays. Lodging is provided for overnight stays.
The role is performed in a work‑site setting and is classified as safety‑sensitive, requiring adherence to physical demand standards and a drug‑and‑alcohol‑free workplace. All candidates must complete a pre‑employment background check, drug screen, and, if needed, provide consent for DOT‑regulated testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of experience overseeing a drilling operation within geothermal or oil and gas fields required.
- Oversight experience in a regional or multi‑site environment required.
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of operational principles, processes, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
- Certified Safety Professional (preferred).
- OSHA 30 certification required, or willingness to complete training within first 90 days.
Benefits
Employees are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as operational needs dictate. The position offers a base salary range of $175,000‑$195,000 per year plus an annual discretionary bonus, and applicable overtime compensation follows the relevant wage and hour laws.
