The Payroll Specialist will report union benefits, maintain certified payroll and prevailing wage files, and collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, and Labor Relations. This role ensures accurate benefit calculations, compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and prepares necessary funding and audit documentation.
- Review collective bargaining agreements to calculate health, welfare, 401k, pension, training dues, etc.
- Ensure union employees receive correct benefits based on their local designation and CBA.
- Identify and correct benefit calculation errors to prevent penalties and grievances.
- Prepare weekly and monthly funding reports and request checks/EFT from Accounts Payable for union funding.
- Maintain accurate records for union audits and prepare certified payroll and prevailing wage reports.
- Assist field teams to ensure compliance with federal and local certified payroll regulations.
- Train project managers and contractors on contract policies and support report/application completion.
- Monitor contracts for certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance, resolve non‑compliance issues, and process close‑out documents.
- Generate fringe benefit statements and deduction reports required by prime contractors.
- Communicate with departments and local agencies to resolve prevailing wage reporting discrepancies.

- Meet physical demands: bend, squat, lift up to 25+ pounds; may require driving, loading equipment, and working in extreme conditions.
- Require a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 3 years of payroll and union experience.
- Possess strong analytical and Excel skills and knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage regulations.

- Base pay range $24.05–$33.06, dependent on location, education, and experience.
