Forklift operators are responsible for operating industrial trucks to load, unload, and move materials between storage areas and work centers. They ensure timely deliveries and support the efficient operation of the facility.
Key duties include coordinating with the Shipping/Receiving Area Coordinator and Materials Manager, loading and unloading materials, maintaining quality documentation, transporting raw material to production workers, keeping daily logs, reporting shortages, inspecting equipment, and performing other tasks as required by management.
Required skills include clear communication, attention to detail, basic mathematics, and general building‑material knowledge. Candidates must have at least one year of continuous forklift experience, good organizational abilities, patience under pressure, flexibility with hours and duties, and a strong work ethic and teamwork attitude.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, the ability to pass a forklift driving assessment, and the physical capability to lift 25 lb frequently and up to 80 lb occasionally. The role is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to weather, noise, and dust.
