Interior Designer - Senior Living/Affordable Housing 10 -15 YOE

Description

• Develop design concepts, narratives, drawings, and 3D renderings for housing projects.
• Lead visioning sessions and presentations to clients and community groups.
• Coordinate consultants (architects, engineers, lighting designers, etc.) to integrate deliverables within budget and timeline.
• Lead technical design, detailed development, project coordination, and quality control with senior designers.
• Manage construction documents and mentor junior team members.
• Maintain team communication throughout project phases and present to clients/owners.
• Oversee construction administration, review shop drawings, samples, and product data for compliance.
• Develop FFE packages from concept through specification, bidding, and on‑site punch.
• Maintain an extensive portfolio showcasing senior living, multi‑family, hospitality, or affordable housing projects.
• Self‑manage mid‑size projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Build strong relationships with clients and consultants.

Requirements

Our Baltimore office is seeking a skilled Interior Designer to join our team in the Senior Living / Affordable Housing Market Sector. The next team member will have excellent communication, design, graphic, and visualization skills. This individual will manage, organize, and coordinate with the design and technical project teams throughout the design process to successfully execute interior and architectural projects.

A portfolio or work samples (max 4 MB) must be submitted to be considered; a link to the portfolio is preferred.

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interior design.
• Pursue or hold NCIDQ accreditation and licensure.
• Possess 10–15 years of interior design experience.
• Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and creative thinking skills.
• Exhibit design leadership and ability to motivate and supervise staff.
• Skilled in material, lighting, and furniture selection and rendering using Enscape, SketchUp, and Photoshop.
• Proficient in Revit for design details and millwork.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and 3D presentation software.
• Ability to transition from conceptual development to detailed detailing.

Benefits

The projected base salary for this full‑time position is $85,000–$115,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, education, experience, and skillsets, and represent only one component of HCM’s total compensation package.
