Lineperson Class B is a skilled line worker responsible for installing and repairing overhead distribution and transmission systems, including poles, cables, and related electrical components. The role also involves fitting, repairing, and maintaining underground cables and electrical equipment to ensure reliable power delivery.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess at least five years of experience in electrical power line construction, and demonstrate knowledge of heavy equipment, high‑voltage systems, and problem‑solving in unidentified circumstances. A valid driver’s license is required, with a preference for obtaining a CDL within 90 days, and candidates must be able to climb structures and operate a range of tools such as bucket trucks, derrick trucks, and tensioners.
Employees should be prepared to travel out of state for emergency storm work and meet rigorous physical demands, including continuous standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and performing tasks that require stooping, squatting, and manual dexterity. The role also requires compliance with pre‑employment drug screening, background checks, and potential MVR verification.
