You will provide supervision and development of operating staff, co-ordinate with other shifts and departments and maintain compliance with environmental regulations.

As well, you will be responsible for solid environmental performance of the plant and support all ISO 14001 processes and initiatives.
It is the responsibility of the Shift Supervisor to ensure that NSPI is in compliance with all NERC/NPCC reliability standards related to (area applicable to NERC requirements).
You will be responsible on a shift basis for the safe and efficient operation of a thermal generating station including boiler, turbine generator and all associated auxiliary equipment.

You must be familiar with all aspects of a high-pressure thermal generating station.
You must possess leadership abilities as well as effective communication, computer and interpersonal skills.
You must be able to work effectively as a member of the production team and demonstrate participation in and support for the Competency Based Training program.
You must demonstrate your ongoing commitment to and participate in the capabilities and leadership development processes.
You must be committed to the safety program and pro-actively manage safety performance and culture.
You must be self-motivated and adaptable to change.
8 to 10 years' experience in Thermal Plant operation is required with preference to those possessing supervisory experience.
You must have valid 1st or 2nd Class Power Engineer certification. Knowledge of other trades or certification in other trades will be considered an asset.
