Ability to successfully work with customers on a wide range of concerns.
This is concurrent with DOL Cable Mechanic Classification.
Must have a well-rounded knowledge of network primary feeder circuits, transformer loading, connections, network protector operations and fusing practices.
Must be familiar with use of rubber gloves, sleeves, line hose, switching procedures, as well as in the use of PPE in accordance with Company and OSHA requirements.

Must meet Driver Qualification requirements including the possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A.
Must be experienced in operation of Line Construction and Maintenance vehicles including, but not limited to, fork lifts, digger-derricks, platform digger units, wire and rope tensioning units, and other similar equipment.
Must have a Minimum of 4 years verifiable work experience as a certified cable splicer mechanic or completed approved 4 year apprenticeship.
Must be proficient in splicing and terminating all types of underground cable to include PILC.
Must be physically capable of safely lifting and carrying construction equipment.
If selected for the next step you will be required to pass the Xcel Energy Journeyman Vaultman Cableman test.
Must have effective communication skills (verbal and written).
Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
Must be available for emergency call-outs for overtime assignments as well as on-call assignments.
