What you would be doing

Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to design, the choice of process and equipment and day-to-day problems
Responsible for quality control of all deliverable submittals and to ensure quality control processes are being followed
Lead interdisciplinary design coordination meetings and address critical issues that impact external partners
Manage project design budget in collaboration with the Project Manager and design discipline leads
Ensure the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project
Work closely with Project Managers on all major project functions, with a primary focus on managing the technical project team
Oversee the engineering schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager and design discipline leads
Develop or verify the technical scope of a project
Ensure fluid communication between the project management team, the design team, construction team and the various internal and external stakeholders as engineering elements
Mentor and develop junior staff
Responsible for producing a compliant, constructible design in accordance with Client requirements, Operation and Maintenance requirements and Construction requirements
Responsible for implementing and following the project’s Change Control system, including proactive escalation of potential changes
Ensure the design produced follows appropriate engineering processes, including GHD and Project specific processes
Coordinate technical team leads of the different design disciplines
Lead the creation and execution of design work plan and LOE
Serve as liaison between the site and engineering disciplines during construction and oversee the review of shop drawings

Minimum of 8+ years' of broad and extensive technical, administrative and project experience
Experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste, or Transportation Infrastructure industries, either for private or public clients, is an asset along with knowledge of scheduling software and engineering, capital cost estimating techniques and various construction contracting strategies.
Experience with industrial/process plants, facilities, or buildings
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university
