The Role

Tasks

-Perform a variety of other technical analyses, including techno-economic assessments, tangent climate and carbon-related project assessments and advisement, sustainability program support, data management and methodologies, and QA/QC; -Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. -Manage projects and staff, including providing technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentoring; -Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events; -Communicate actionable information to clients through reports, presentations, and workshops; -Serve as a subject matter expert on the development, implementation, and execution of life cycle assessment (LCA) strategies, approaches, models, and methodologies for regulatory applications (e.g., low carbon fuel standard (LCFS) and US EPA renewable fuel standard (RFS) carbon intensity and pathways), international and voluntary frameworks, and environmental product declarations (EPD); -Work closely with staff in other offices; -Serve in a leadership role for the company culture and values across the organization. -Business development, project management and technical lead for life cycle assessment and carbon quantification projects relating to incentive and regulatory programs; -Develop ISO 14040/44-compliant LCA models and study reports; -Act as a senior technical consultant and strategist providing expertise and leadership in the form of project management, project technical consultant, regulatory subject matter expert, or senior QA/QC reviewer on climate change-related projects; -Guide LCAs through external third-party critical review process; -Assist in recruiting and training additional staff; and

What You Bring

-Overnight travel: Typically, approximately 10% -Advanced degree in engineering. (preferred) -Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) -Strong data management and computational skills. -Experience performing LCA assessments and reporting, including knowledge of current tools and trends. -Expert knowledge and application of the Argonne National Laboratory GREET model and state-specific versions, as well as experience with other commercial LCA software (e.g., SimaPro, openLCA, and GaBi); -At least 10 years of professional and project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) -Proven experience in client relationship management, sales, and business development -CARB-accredited LCFS lead verifier or similar. (preferred) -Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, mechanical or chemical engineering or a similar engineering discipline. (required) -Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and high-level modeling tools. -Professional registration (i.e., P.E.). (preferred) -Ability to apply LCA results within relevant climate regulations to identify value-creation opportunities. -Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks including Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ISO 14067, SBTi, TCFD, and CDP. -Fieldwork: For this position, approximately 5% -Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCACP). (preferred) -Experience working with LCA verification agencies. -Prior experience in LCA and carbon footprinting. -Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations. (preferred) -Understand technical client needs and provide sustainable solutions that are practical and consider the costs and benefits of carbon management and GHG strategies and options; -Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization.
