The CAF India Material Activation Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that production site of the concerned project is supplied with vehicle purchasing parts at the correct time, configuration and quantity required to support manufacturing schedule requirements.
Make sure that CAF provided raw material is available at the vendors at the requirement moment.
Have constant communication with suppliers to schedule, arrange and assure short-, medium- and long-term supply of the material.
Visit vendors to develop relationships with vendors, and to verify the advance of the manufacturing process in order to deliver the material by the requested date, and in full quantity.
Proactively participate in multidisciplinary teams (manufacturing, quality, engineering, sourcing) to understand the workflow.
Provide periodic summaries of deviations and action plans to program Activation Managers.
Anticipate any possible risky situations that may impact on the material supply (allocations, capacity limitations, bottle necks from the supplier side)
A key requirement is to identify and manage suppliers’ limitations and dependencies resultant from but not limited to engineering changes, BOM inaccuracies, free issue parts and NCRs.
Confirm supplier capacity and assist in defining priorities and recovery plans.
Promote the use of CAF Supplier Portal for smooth documentation and delivery note preparation.
Provide reliable, analyzed and accurate delivery dates to the project team, even if these dates don´t meet the ideal date requirement. Update delivery commitments in ERP system (Baan) & SAP.
Ensure that latest revisions of materials are manufactured and quality issues are resolved as to identify and manage supplier limitations and dependencies resultant but not limited to engineering changes, BOM inaccuracies, free issue parts & NCR’s.
Follow up with suppliers and coordinate with CAF global teams to ensure the material arrives on time and in full, and if this is not possible, make sure that all mitigation actions are taken to minimize the impact of the delay in the Manufacturing Program.
Manage non-conformities (NCRs, rejected delivery orders) assigned to your responsibility.
B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in (#Mechanical / #Electrical / #Industrial / #Production / #Mechatronics Engineering)
Familiarity with inspection tools (e.g., #calipers, #micrometers, #gauges & #CMM etc.) is a plus.
1–4 years of experience in #supplier_coordination, #material_activation, or #supply_chain_management.
Good knowledge of MS Excel, #PowerPoint, and Word; #ERP knowledge (Baan/#SAP/#Oracle) preferred.
Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and propose corrective actions related to deliveries/quality.
Experience in rail/metro/automotive manufacturing industry preferred.
Basic understanding of manufacturing drawings and QC standards
Strong communication and reporting skills (English – written & spoken).
Experience in quality assurance is a plus point.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as in a team.
Willingness to travel and stay at vendor locations for longer time as required.
