Senior Manager, Construction Accounting

Description

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of account reconciliations and financial activity, including project cost tracking and reporting, cash, receivable billings & collections, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, construction draw processing, and accrued liabilities.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
• Assist in the development and maintenance of strong accounting policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and take ownership of project issues with asset managers, project managers and finance professionals.
• Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time-to-time.
• Effectively lead, develop, and manage Accounting Staff.
• Assist in the adoption and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
• Execution of accurate and timely month-end and year-end close utilizing the ERP and reporting systems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including banks, title companies, etc. that will support and grow the business
• Ensure compliance with internal control processes.
• Lead and participate in year-end statutory audits for assigned project entities.
• Assist in the creation of efficiencies in accounting processes by implementing process improvements, technology driven solutions and automation. Partner with Financial Systems to ensure all financial systems are properly operating to capture and produce timely and accurate information and support the company’s growth.

Requirements

• Strong coordination / organizational skills with attentiveness to timelines
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years of management experience.
• CPA license.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance.
• Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions.
• Prior experience in the energy, power, real estate, or infrastructure space is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines
• Responsible, motivated, reliable, strategic thinker, exceptional work ethic.
• Technologically-savvy, with very strong Microsoft Office skills and experience, particularly in Excel and Word.
• Proficient with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
• Multi-Site Organization SEC Company or Public accounting firm experience preferred; BIG 4 experience is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including ability to communicate proficiently with all levels of Management.
• In-depth knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
