This role requires managing multiple, concurrent software roll-outs using a disciplined, checklist-driven implementation process that builds confidence and delivers measurable value from day one. Success is defined by the number of agencies successfully onboarded, speed of time-to-value, and customer satisfaction within the first 90 days after go-live. Long-term growth is supported by developing guided and self-service workflows that enable scalable adoption across a broad customer base.
By enabling remote connectivity built on strong networking and security practices, your work will help agencies modernize infrastructure, enhance roadway safety, and maintain uptime of critical transportation safety assets.
As an Implementation Specialist, you will play a key role in deploying, configuring, and integrating software-centric transportation technology within the IT and operational environments of cities, counties, and state Departments of Transportation (DOTs). You will collaborate directly with agency IT, cybersecurity, and signal operations teams to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant deployments of the Synapse ITS intelligent transportation software platform.
- Partner with city, county, and DOT IT departments and signal operations teams to understand infrastructure requirements and ensure compliance across cybersecurity standards, networking constraints, and transportation industry standards (e.g. NTCIP, FedRAMP, MUTCD, where applicable).
- Conduct system validation to confirm safe, secure, and reliable operations across devices and back-office systems.
- Train and support agency IT and signal operations staff, providing technical guidance for long-term system management.
- Engage in pre-deployment discovery and site surveys. This will involve technically supporting the consultative sales process and identifying/addressing IT-related objections or barriers.
- Project [DB1] manage the deployment, configuration, and integration of transportation technology solutions (e.g., signal monitoring systems, connected cabinet systems, safety detection networks) into agency IT and operations environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to networking, connectivity, and system integration during and after deployments.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to adapt solutions based on client feedback and evolving transportation needs.
- Document implementation processes, including network diagrams, system integration details, and cybersecurity configurations.
