Design Coordination: Manage design coordination and technical interfaces with other departments and project stakeholders.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and update the schedule to reflect actual progress, identify potential delays or issues, and provide accurate forecasts to the Project Manager.
Health and Safety: Take direct responsibility for on-site Health & Safety, ensuring strict adherence to the project's "Zero Harm" safety culture and nuclear site regulations.
Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and analyse detailed project schedules for the a major infrastructure including resource and cost loading, in accordance with the project's Integrated Work Schedule (IWS).
Risk Mitigation: Conduct critical path analysis and "what-if" scenarios to identify and mitigate schedule risks and constraints.
Quality Control: Perform regular site inspections to monitor progress, enforce quality control measures, and ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering designs.
Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to the site team, interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to the North Plaza.
Change Control: Support the commercial team with technical input for time-related compensation events under the contract, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected in the P6 schedule.
Resource Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure the efficient and timely execution of work packages.
Reporting: Prepare and issue regular progress reports, including short-term look-ahead plans and variance analyses, for internal and external stakeholders.
On-Site Supervision: Supervise and manage all construction activities for the project, including groundworks, hardstandings, drainage, road construction, footways, and security tracks.
Budget Support: Assist the Project Manager and Site Agent with cost estimates for labour, equipment, and materials, and monitor project budgets.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including site diaries, progress records, and quality assurance records.
Site Logistics: Organise and oversee site logistics, including managing the delivery of materials and equipment and verifying their compliance with project standards.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Sub-Agent on major infrastructure or nuclear projects.
Significant main contractor civils experience, with strong knowledge of engineering principles and construction methodologies.
Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Office.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Relevant safety certifications such as SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) are typically required.
A full UK driving license is essential.
Experience working with the NEC form of contract is essential.
The Project Engineer/Sub-Agent is a crucial on-site leadership role responsible for the technical and operational delivery of a construction package at a major regional infrastructure project.
