Provider of UK housing repairs, maintenance, care services, development and facilities management
The Accommodation Coordinator joins the initial accommodation team and is responsible for quickly allocating bed spaces to minimise income loss, which may involve relocating existing service users or securing new properties for incoming placements. Safeguarding and a positive service‑user experience are central to the role, requiring accurate processing of notifications and close collaboration with regional and transport teams throughout the placement process.
Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK, as Mears does not sponsor visas, and will undergo background, identity, security and BPSS checks requiring proof of address, references, a valid passport and UK residence for the past five years. The role requires office experience, strong telephone skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Teams, as well as effective communication with colleagues, stakeholders and service users.
Mears Group provides temporary accommodation for asylum seekers while their claims are assessed across four regions – the Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland – supporting over 19,000 service users as of May 2021. The company works with central and local government, registered providers, landlords and investors to tackle homelessness, expand social and affordable housing, and deliver specialist housing for people with care needs. The Accommodation Coordinator role is based in Enfield and offers a salary of up to £29,812.57 per annum on a full‑time permanent contract (40 hours per week).
Mears is committed to diversity and inclusion, offering a supportive recruitment process, voluntary social‑mobility data collection, and recognition as a Disability Confident employer, Armed Forces Covenant supporter, and Gold award holder in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
